News & Notes:  These songs were recorded in January of 2004.  Ten of the songs were released in April 2004 on Between the Dim and the Dark.  Three songs (Darkest Love, First to Feel Like This, and Only Son) were finished at Jay Clifford's home studio in the spring of 2005 and released on the Between the Glow and the Light EP.

Details from the recording sessions:

Previously, according to Matt: "Most you'll have heard. One you probably haven't heard. One you've never heard. And who knows...one song has to be cut eventually (the album will probably only have twelve songs total) so things could change up to the last minute."

More recently (1/31/04), Matt stated: "And we do plan to return to Tree Sounds and finish the songs that didn't fit Between.... We would also try to record the songs that didn't even make the first cut, songs that we knew didn't fit but loved anyway: "By the Way They Dance", "Hang it on the Wall", and even "Where She Lies". Already you're talking about a six-song EP, if we were to just include those songs. And who knows what else is in the works. We even have a possible title: "Between the Glow and the Light". Very Nine Inch Nails. So don't worry about whether your favorite Jump song is going to be released, or not, any more. I think that it will be, and hopefully by the end of the year, even!"

Ultimately, the band did finish the tracks, and recorded a new version of Where She Lies at Jay's home studio.  Rains in Asia from the Dim and the Dark session was remixed and put on the EP as well.
