Matthew's Memories
Aesthetically, my least favorite Dock Street show. I had had a nervous breakdown earlier in the year, and Lauren Duffie, then the Creative Director, had prior commitments, so the job of 'themeing' Dock Street was left to the rest of the band, and they had no idea how difficult a job it could be. They soon learned. The 'puppet' theme was OK, but there was a good bit of chaos. Everyone involved was really talented, but there wasn't much cohesion to the project. The 'Bike Rider' was played by Bill Carson (of His Checkered Past) and the 'ballerina' was our friend Heather Maloy, of Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance. I did 'pin' Lauren this year, which was an old-fashioned good time. -Matthew Bivins |
